After years of declining numbers, hate crimes against Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders are rising exponentially. A report from the Los Angeles County Commission on Human Relations found that crimes targeting Asian-Americans tripled in that county between 2014 and 2015.
Asians are the target of many Blacks looking to perpetrator crimes: Robbery, Rape, Assault, Harassment, and Theft. Part of the reason is Asians generally don't report this type of behavior. And Whites do not like to talk about it, out of fear they may be painted as racist.
As disturbing as these stories are, they often don't show up in national data, said Yang. Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders frequently under report hate incidents because they feel intimidated by law enforcement or are afraid of being seen as overly sensitive. Unfortunately, their silence on the issue makes them an even more attractive target for hate crimes. Racially motivated incidents that are reported are often filed as generic offenses and don't show up in national data about hate crimes.
Surprisingly, it's a smaller symptom of what Blacks do against Asians in Philadelphia's City Hall. Zoning, planning, and generally crack downs in health violations often target Philadelphia's Chinatown and it's Chinese Owner Operators.
Meanwhile real problems, out of control welfare spending, systemic drug use, a homeless population spiraling out of control, homeless/drug-addicts defecating on the street, and an utter lack of police presence are all ignored.
